  2. Your category of membership must include access to BLAZE.
  3. Team members, their close relatives*, guests, and those on associate or complimentary memberships may not enter.
  4. Members under 18 must participate together with a responsible adult.

*The term “close relative” includes parents, children, in-laws, siblings, spouses, civil partners, and cohabitants.

How to enter

  1. You must enter as part of a team of three. (If you enter as an individual, we will allocate you to a team.)
  2. Heats will take place from 27th February 2026 to 27th March 2026.
  3. You and your team must book onto the official BLAZE Community Games sessions via the David Lloyd app.
  4. You may attend more than one heat, subject to availability, but you may only enter the competition as part of one team.
  5. Bookings for heats will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis in line with our standard booking terms.
  6. If any member of your team fails to attend a booked heat, your team will not be able to produce a valid score for that entry.

Team Club Requirement

  1. Teams may not record heat scores for multiple clubs.

Scoring

  1. Each heat will follow a specific BLAZE Community Games workout, based on the standard BLAZE class format.
  2. Your team score will be made up of:
  • Time spent in the Myzone® “red” zone, up to a maximum of 18 minutes.

  • The total distance run on the treadmill (1 point per 100m),

  • The total number of repetitions performed in the strength and combat zones within three 3-minute intervals per team member, based on the BLAZE Community Games Heats workout.

    1. Red zone minutes will be taken from the summary tile displayed at the end of the class. If your summary tile does not display correctly, the minutes spent in the red zone will be taken from your Myzone® app.
  1. Time spent in Myzone® colours cannot be tracked using external devices such as a fitness watch or stopwatch.
  2. You should always exercise within your own limits.
  3. You must record your team’s results using the official BLAZE Community Games scorecard and hand this to the Instructor or BLAZE Supervisor immediately at the end of your heat.
  4. Any team suspected of cheating, falsifying results or not following the workout or movement standards may be disqualified.
  5. The Instructor’s decision regarding scoring and validation of results is final.

Score Verification for Top Teams

  1. To help ensure fairness and integrity across all clubs, teams finishing within the top 10 of their regional leaderboard may be required to verify their score, which may include:
  • Providing a photograph of the completed BLAZE Community Games scorecard, signed by the BLAZE Supervisor or Instructor, and
  • Providing video evidence demonstrating correct movement standards and repetition quality for part or all of the workout.

Video evidence may be filmed by a team member, the Instructor or the BLAZE Supervisor and should clearly show:

  • The team member(s) performing the movements, and
  • Reasonable proof of the number of repetitions and/or time where relevant.
  1. David Lloyd Leisure reserves the right to request evidence from any team on the leaderboard. Failure to provide suitable verification when requested may result in removal of the score or disqualification from the competition.

Travel & Accommodation

  1. Accommodation the night before the UK semi finals is offered in a local hotel for each team member. (3 single accommodation rooms per team)
  2. Teams from clubs which are 150 miles to the hosting club, will be assisted with travel costs.
  3. Where such support is offered, specific details (such as the number of rooms, nights included, meal inclusions and any travel reimbursement) will be communicated directly to the teams concerned.

Filming & Photography

  1. Filming and photography may take place at any stage of the BLAZE Community Games, including:
  • Club heats,
  • UK Semi-Finals, and
  • Grand Final events.
  1. By participating in the BLAZE Community Games, you acknowledge and agree that David Lloyd Leisure may use photographs, video footage and other media captured during the event for promotional, marketing and communication purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, internal communications and printed materials.

  2. Participants may also be invited to take part in interviews or additional promotional content. Participation in interviews is optional, but attendance at the event may still result in your image appearing in wider coverage.

Disqualification, Conduct & Integrity

  1. David Lloyd Leisure reserves the right to remove or disqualify any team or individual participant from the competition where:
  • Scorecards are incomplete, altered or appear fraudulent,
  • There is evidence or reasonable suspicion of cheating, rule breaches or manipulation of scores,
  • Required verification (such as scorecards or video evidence) is not provided,
  • There is abusive, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour towards staff, instructors, other members or competitors, or
  • Safety instructions or staff directions are not followed.
  1. All decisions relating to disqualification, score validity and competition outcomes made by the Head of Programme Delivery and the BLAZE leadership team are final.
