David Lloyd Leisure, Europe’s leading health, fitness and wellness group has unveiled plans for a new state-of- the-art health, fitness & wellness Club in Nantwich, Cheshire. Advised by planning consultants Lichfields, David Lloyd Leisure has submitted a planning application to East Cheshire Council and subject to planning consent, the new Club could be open in 2027. The proposed site for the brand-new David Lloyd Club is on Newcastle Road on the east side of the town and would create around 60 local jobs during construction and 80-100 jobs once open.
David Lloyd Leisure has made a commitment to become carbon neutral by 2030 and the new Club will incorporate the latest in sustainability technology to ensure it operates as efficiently as possible. It has worked in collaboration with the local planning authorities and has made several amendments to the plans to ensure that it is as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. The plans include the addition of a new footpath and cycleway links with the Crewe Vagrants site next door to ensure easy pedestrian and cycling access.
Plans for the family-friendly Club include:
David Lloyd Leisure is passionate about making its Clubs a comfortable and welcoming place for members to come together with friends and family to promote physical and mental health and wellness.
The plans will also feature a stylish Clubroom for members to meet with friends or enjoy a bite to eat, as well as large and inviting spaces to work, relax and socialise. Family sits right at the heart of David Lloyd Clubs and plans also include a range of facilities for children including a soft play, and spaces for after-school and holiday clubs, offering fun and active childcare solutions for parents outside of school hours. In addition to match-quality tennis courts, the Club will also offer the latest racquet sport to take the UK by storm – padel. The premium Club will also feature a luxury Spa Retreat with Spa Garden.
The Group is committed to creating positive communities both inside and outside of its clubs and plans to explore opportunities to develop local community partnerships.
Stuart Caswell, New Clubs Acquisition Director at David Lloyd Leisure comments: “Over the last 18 months we have worked in close consultation with the planning authorities and have listened carefully to the views of local residents, and we believe we have developed proposals that will be hugely beneficial for the Nantwich community.”
Our plan is to construct a state-of-the-art health and wellness Club that not only enhances the area and creates a range of new jobs and opportunities for the local community, but also reflects the needs of people living in the area.
