13th August 2019

David Lloyd Warrington is set to receive a significant £1.4million investment programme to firmly position it as the area’s leading family-friendly health, spa, fitness and racquets clubs. When the work finishes in August, the club will offer unrivalled facilities to support members with their health and wellness needs, whether that be fitness, relaxation or socialising with friends and family.

The club, which is a short walk from the leafy Sanky Valley park, will also offer unrivalled facilities for all the family including a premium outdoor dining and seating area perfect for a drink or a bite to eat on a sunny day. It will be located right next to a range of family-friendly facilities making it the perfect spot for mums and dads to chill while keeping a watchful eye as the younger family members as they burn off some energy. New outdoor facilities include a state-of-the-art floodlit 3G football pitch, a new kids play frame and Battlebox, a brand new military-style group exercise concept for the over 8s and adults. The newly refurbished, brightly decorated DL Kids rooms will continue to offer active and fun kids clubs, both out-of-school hours and throughout the school holidays, providing much sought-after childcare solutions for busy parents.

And there is great news for adults looking for a bit of peaceful, chill out time away from the bustle of life. The stunning luxury outdoor Spa Garden will be a stylish addition to the club and set to be a key destination to melt away stress. With a bubbling hydro pool, external sauna cabin with a feature shower, and landscaped decking area with an atmospheric fire pit and loungers, the new Spa Garden will make the perfect spot for members to rest their mind and body on a summer’s day.

Along with the investment in the relaxation facilities, there will also be significant upgrade to the gym. Fitness enthusiasts can up their performance with all the new hi-tech equipment, including: Five Mobility equipment for stretching and recovery, Woodway Curves and Woodway 4front treadmills, Synrgy XL functional rig- functional kit to create a unique training space made for small group exercise classes, ski ergs (indoor ski cardio machines), assault bikes and Stages Solo bikes.

The club will also be launching Rhythm, the latest indoor cycling class, which works body and mind with inspiring playlists and highly motivating instructors – creating an immersive workout that tunes muscles and unlocks emotions.

This new class complements Blaze, which was introduced last year. Blaze is a brand new studio based boutique-style HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) class, which has proved to be hugely popular with members testing member’s strength, stamina, and willpower. It will push individuals to their limit as they make their way round the cardio, free weights and boxing stations, all tracked by a Myzone heart-rate monitor with results displayed on large screens around the studio.

The newly refurbished indoor Clubroom will also offer family zones, with kids’ desks and tablets, and a soft play area to keep the little ones happy. It will also feature an adults-only area and business zone in the clubroom for grown-ups looking for a chilled out space to relax or work from.

David Lloyd Warrington’s General Manager John Foy, said: “The exciting new investment means we lead the way in family-friendly health and fitness facilities in Cheshire. With unrivalled kids clubs and facilities, extensive tennis and swimming lessons, plus a state-of-the-art gym, an extensive group exercise programme, premium spa facilities and healthy dining options in the new Clubroom, members of all ages will be able to spend the whole day at the club. Parents will be especially thrilled, as finding convenient and fun childcare or things to do as a family in the holidays can be a real headache, and we will have it all under one roof.”

This investment is exactly what Warrington needed and firmly places it as the top health and fitness clubs in the area.”

In addition to the new and refurbished facilities, David Lloyd Warrington offers six indoor and seven outdoor tennis courts, four badminton courts and three table tennis tables and heated indoor and outdoor pools. The group exercise studios offer everything from Yoga and Tai Chi, to circuit training and Boot Camp, and there is a dedicated indoor cycling studio. There are indoor spa facilities including a sauna and steam room, plus a crèche and free members wifi.

It’s not just about staying active and healthy. David Lloyd Warrington also has a thriving social scene for adults and children alike, with comedy nights, firework displays, kids’ discos, sporting events in its busy events calendar throughout the rest of the year.
