MILTON KEYNES PERSONAL TRAINER NAMED AS DAVID LLOYD CLUBS’ ‘COACHING HERO’ WINNER
Becky Volpe is picked out from over 1000 entries as the national finalist of the ‘Coaching Hero of the Year’ Competition.
11th March 2019
Local Personal Trainer, Becky Volpe from David Lloyd Milton Keynes, has been named as the winner of the health and fitness group’s Coaching Hero of the Year competition out of a staggering 1000 entries from all across the UK. She was nominated by member Lisa Steel for her “life changing” support.
The search for David Lloyd Clubs’ top national fitness coaches was undertaken to recognise and reward the impact of a Personal Trainer (PT) on an individual - transforming their lives through prescriptive coaching, whether the focus is on recovering from illness or injury, to lose weight or even to build confidence for those who had never stepped foot inside a gym before.
Hugely inspirational stories have been received, from those who have embarked on a journey to regain fitness following an accident or life-threatening illness, losing substantial amounts of weight and those achieving goals they didn’t feel possible. Personal Trainers are changing the world of health and fitness and at David Lloyd Clubs, they’re an essential part of the team.
PT’s at David Lloyd Clubs take a real prescriptive approach to devising a programme which will meet individual needs, challenge and keep you motivated throughout. And in many cases, going above and beyond has resulted in a happy and grateful client and friend who wishes to publicly say thank you.
Lisa Steel, a member of David Lloyd Milton Keynes, nominated trainer Becky for being an immense support during Lisa’s three-stone transformation.
Lisa said: “Becky is without a doubt my hero. I started with her in February 2017 having never exercised in my life and hating it and hating the gym. I was in a difficult place from a mental health and family stress perspective, and my weight had increased; I was anxious about my health and fitness.
“Over the last 20 months, Becky has got me regularly exercising. I would never have done this without her calm, consistent and always encouraging support. It’s been a long journey.
“As well as the health benefits of having a healthier body, I am around 3 stone lighter, my muscle has increased, and my fat has significantly decreased. I now have firm eating and exercise habits in place, developed over a sustained long period and set in place for life. I’m now starting to think about 2019 goals of improving my strength and tone.”
Lisa finishes: “The time I have spent with Becky has been life changing and I don’t use that term lightly. It has rescued me, increased my health and my confidence and has given me a new hobby and fulfilment to my life. I am genuinely thankful that I have been able to meet Becky and for all of the expertise, support and belief she has given to me.”
PT Becky Volpe commented: “Being a Personal Trainer at David Lloyd Clubs gives me the opportunity to help people achieve their goals. I consider it such a privilege to be able to guide clients along their health and fitness journeys.
“Lisa has excelled in so many ways, she is much fitter, stronger and healthier now. I am so incredibly proud of her and not just for the physical results, which have been amazing, but for the boost to her confidence and self-esteem. It has been a joy to get to know and train Lisa.”
