DAVID LLOYD CRICKLEWOOD LANE OPENS ITS DOORS AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE FIRST PHASE OF ITS £5.25m REDEVELOPMENT

David Lloyd Cricklewood Lane opened its doors to its new members after the completion of the first phase of its multi-million redevelopment, which will position it as one of the leading premium fitness, spa and wellness clubs in north London.  Led by general manager Jo Miller, the newly recruited David Lloyd Cricklewood Lane team were delighted to welcome the first members through the door as it opened at 6am on Wednesday.

This first phase of the redevelopment sees the opening of the state-of-the-art gym which will provide members with the best-in-class equipment as well as expertise to support members in achieving their fitness goals. There are also five fully redesigned and refurbished group exercise studios, new premium changing room facilities as well as a stylish new reception and club exterior.

The new gym is light and spacious and has been kitted out with the latest equipment including state-of-the-art Life Fitness machines with interactive screensWoodway Curve treadmills, Concept 2 rowing machines, Wattbikes, Octane Elipticals and SkiErgs.

There is also an extensive range of free weights and weight resistance machines with dumbbells, barbells, weight plates and kettlebells to suit all levels, complemented by industry-leading racks, benches and lifting platforms. And for members who are new to strength training, the numerous resistance machines make the ideal place to get started with less stress on the body.

A team of expert Personal Trainers are on hand to offer expertise and encouragement, and for those who enjoy working out with others, PT-led Delta group training held on a dedicated gym-based frame will offer motivation and support. There is also a spacious stretch zone complete with hi-tech stretch machines.

The Club also offers David Lloyd Clubs’ Signature group exercise classes within the five newly refurbished studios - group cycling, high energy and Mind & Body, Reformer Pilates, plus a new boutique style BLAZE studio. BLAZE is a cutting-edge HIIT classes, held in a dedicated hi-tech studio, using treadmills, strength, and combat equipment, and is designed to significantly improve cardiovascular fitness and burning calories fast.   The newly refurbished Reformer Pilates studio will offer the latest equipment for a total body workout that will leave members feeling stronger, more flexible with improved body alignment.

Phase 2 of the refurbishment will complete in summer 2022 and will see the reopening of the indoor heated swimming pool which will offer quiet adult swim sessions and separate family swim times.   Family sits right at the heart of David Lloyd Clubs and there will be a structured, progressive swim coaching, and children can take part in DL Kids after-school and holiday clubs. Sessions will take place in a dedicated DL Kids zone and will be synchronised with the adult group exercise programme giving parents and guardians a break.

The Clubroom which sits at the heart of the club is also having a complete makeover and will make the stylish space for members to relax with their friends and family. The Clubroom will be carefully zoned with a dining area to enjoy a range of healthy meals and an adults-only and business hub for those looking for an alternative to working from the office or home. There will also be dedicated family area with a new playframe for the youngest members.

Phase 3 of the investment programme will complete in autumn 2022 and will include the opening of a luxury Spa Retreat.  Set within the club, but with a tranquil atmosphere that will feel a world away from busy London, the luxury spa will provide a sanctuary for members looking to relax and unwind. The Spa Retreat will feature a hydro pool, and a range of hot and cold treatments including a warm Finnish and a salt sauna, crystal and citrus steam rooms, feature showers, an ice-cold plunge pool and relaxation beds.
