Black History Month is a time to celebrate the richness of Black culture, reflect, and recognise the voices and contributions that continue to shape our world.
At David Lloyd Clubs, it’s also a time to pause and listen. To hear directly from colleagues as they share their experiences, their inspirations and the journeys that have shaped them.
Some talk about progression and opportunity, and the pride they take in creating space for others to succeed. Others share the influence of cultural role models, or the heritage and identity that continue to guide them. Each perspective is personal, powerful and deeply rooted in what inclusion and representation mean in everyday life.
These stories also remind us that progress doesn’t happen in isolation. Allies — teammates, leaders, communities — play a vital role in creating environments where people feel seen, supported and able to thrive.
Together, these stories remind us that community is built on listening, celebrating difference and making space for every voice to be heard, not only in October, but all year round.
Watch the vlogs. Hear the stories.
Working with our CANDLe Inclusion Resource Group, we invited colleagues to record these vlogs, sharing their journeys, inspirations and what Black History Month means to them.
