Benefits of yoga

Yoga is a holistic form of exercise, which means it helps you take care of both your mind and your body. As well as fitness benefits - improved strength, flexibility, balance and posture - research has also linked yoga to reduced stress and enhanced mood.

Yoga classes for over-50s

A regular yoga practice can support you in other types of exercise and in your daily life, whatever age you decide to start. As a workout, it's kind to your joints but will still deliver real results for your fitness.

Pilates in Northwood

As well as our yoga classes, we offer Pilates mat and Reformer classes. There are similarities between these two low-impact workouts, but one of the key differences is that yoga involves more movement, while Pilates tends to be more about holding postures. Pilates focuses on strengthening the core to benefit the whole body, but there's usually some flexibility work, too.

What to bring to a yoga class at David Lloyd Northwood & how to book

We'll provide everything you need in our yoga classes, such as mats and props, but feel free to bring your own mat if you prefer. Wear comfortable clothing, and it's a good idea to have a water bottle on hand if you're doing a dynamic yoga class.

Booking is easy with the David Lloyd Clubs app. Simply navigate to the timetable from the home screen and select the session you want.
