Wednesday, 15th September 2021
Following her historic win at the US Open, Emma Raducanu has clearly proven an inspiration for budding tennis players up and down the UK, with searches for tennis lessons increasing four-fold following her victory this weekend.
Visits to the tennis page of the David Lloyd Clubs website have doubled since 10th September as families are inspired to see if they have the next court superstar in their midst.
This trend is reflected in Google trends across the nation, with sharp surges in searches for tennis courts, coaching and clubs nearby.
Lucy Day, Head of Gym and Sports at David Lloyd Clubs commented: “Like much of the country we were glued to the TV over the weekend watching Emma Raducanu’s historic victory, and to immediately see how she has inspired the nation to take up tennis is wonderful.
“At David Lloyd Clubs we believe in creating opportunities for the whole family to be inspired by their sporting heroes, and Emma’s success stands as an incredible example for our young athletes to look up to. Our expert coaches are here to develop our sporting communities and teach budding champions of any age. We are committed to supporting our future sports stars whatever they choose to do.”
