David Lloyd Clubs invites you to join the 7am #DLRunClub

Most of us know that running is an excellent way to stay fit and build up your cardio strength, but did you know that doing it early in the morning can have additional benefits? That’s why David Lloyd Clubs is launching a virtual 7am DL Run Club and is encouraging all to join in.

With benefits including a boost in energy and productivity levels lasting the whole day, less snacking activity throughout the day and studies showing that more fat is burnt when exercising on an empty stomach, it seems an early morning run is the best way to start the day. Especially in these times of stress.

David Lloyd Clubs spokesperson says: “Due to the recent nationwide lockdown, 7am is the ideal time to exercise outside as very few people are out and about, meaning you’re working out in a sensible and responsible way*. Now more than ever it is paramount to take care of our physical and mental wellbeing and we know that people are exercising in the fresh air as part of this. We want to help you do this as safely as possible.

“Early mornings are typically quiet - the serenity and fresh air from this time of day can help with additional anxiety some might be feeling at this time. Running is also a great activity to do by yourself, gather your thoughts, listen to music and get some much needed ‘me time’.”

So why not grab your trainers tomorrow morning and join a whole host of runners up and down the country on Instagram, sharing your 7am DL Run Club story by tagging @davidlloyduk and using the hashtag #DLrunclub.
