David Lloyd Clubs Acton Park FAQ

Why is the club opening in May?
Initially this was due to some delays with planning, leading to a more complex building project than was anticipated. This, coupled with the inclement weather conditions recently has slightly delayed our build programme. However, both our internal construction project management team and our contractors are confident we will be open and ready to welcome members by 31st May, if not before.

 

Which David Lloyd Clubs can I make use of in May prior to Acton Park opening?
You can enjoy all other David Lloyd Clubs (excluding the Harbour Club Chelsea, Kensington and Notting Hill). Our most local clubs are: Fulham, Sudbury Hill and Heston.

 

I haven’t received my membership card yet. Can I still access other David Lloyd Clubs?

Yes absolutely. You will get asked some security questions upon arrival at the club but that’s just so we know who you are. If you would like to get your membership card before we open then you are welcome to pop into the Membership suite at the club and we take your photo and print your card off for you.

 

When will my direct debit start?
All direct debit payments will start on June 1st. Monthly membership fees will then be taken on the first of every month thereafter.

 

How long is my membership for?
Your membership is a rolling contract for an indefinite period, with an initial term of 12 months. This means it doesn't renew each year, it continues beyond your initial term unless you tell us otherwise and provide the required notice period. 

 

Can I still use other David Lloyd Clubs once Acton Park is open?
Yes, you can still enjoy other David Lloyd Clubs (excluding the Harbour Club Chelsea, Kensington and Notting Hill). 

 

What is the cost of my monthly membership?
The cost of your monthly membership will depend on the package you have chosen. If you would like a breakdown please contact

Does my membership include towels?
Whether your membership includes towels or not will depend on your membership category. If you have opted for a membership option that does not include towels you can borrow one for £2 at Reception or if you would like to enquire about the package which includes towels please email [email protected]

When will we have a final copy of all the timetables for Classes, Swim, Tennis & Kids?
We are currently recruiting our instructors and coaches and once our team are in place we will be able to communicate final timetables to you, this will likely be in early May.

 

How many weeks of kids Tennis and Swim lessons are available?
We will be running lessons from June, this is to ensure that your children get used to the programme and are familiar with the instructors ready for a full term in September. They are scheduled to run from June until mid July, precise dates will be communicated in early May.

 

When can I book tennis and swim lessons?
We are currently in the process of constructing our Swim and Tennis All Star Programmes. Once this is finalised we will hold open evenings towards the end of April/early May to explain the programme and allow you the opportunity to book your children a place

 

What is the booking policy for group exercise classes and tennis courts?
You can book group exercise classes and tennis drills on the David Lloyd App from 8pm 9 days in advance of your chosen activity taking place. If Tennis Courts are included in your membership you will be able to book a court on the app or online from 8am, 9 days in advance.

 

Can I book classes at other David Lloyd clubs?

Members on platinum memberships are able to book classes from 8pm 9 days in advance at all David Lloyd clubs. All other memberships can book from 8pm 9 days in advance at Acton Park only and can book classes on the same day at all other David Lloyd clubs.

 

What if I have problems with the app and miss out on booking my chosen class?
Please note you will need to register online first and set up your password. You will need your membership number to hand and the email address you registered with.  If you have any problems please call 0203 946 0570 or email [email protected] and one of the team will be glad to assist you. 

What happens if I am unable to attend the class I have booked?

If you are unable to attend your class you can cancel your space using the app and we ask that you give as us much notice as possible. If you cancel a class within 2 hours of the start time you will receive a ‘late cancellation’ notification. If you do not attend you class you will receive a ‘no show’ notification. If you receive 3 notifications over a 30 day period your booking rights will be suspended for 7 days.

Please ensure you swipe your card to gain entry to the club as this will notify us that you have attended your class.

What happens if I have a tennis court booked and I am unable to attend?

Again, we ask for you to cancel your court as soon as you are aware you will not be able to honour the booking, if a court is cancelled within 24 hours of the booking you will receive a ‘late cancellation’ notification. If you do not show up for your tennis booking you will receive a ‘no show’ notification. If you receive 3 notifications over a 90 day period your booking rights will be suspended for 30 days.

Please ensure you swipe your card to gain entry to the club as this will notify us that you have used your court.

Is there a waiting list if the class is full?

Yes – there is an ‘Alert Me’ service available on the app. Just click on the class and if it is full at the time, there is an option to toggle an alert ‘on or off’ (You must allow push notifications which can be managed in the App settings).

What are the opening times of the club?
The club will be open from 6am-11pm Monday-Friday and from 8am-10pm Saturday - Sunday. All Club facilities close 30 minutes before the club closes and there is a half an hour grace period to get ready to leave.

What happens if my children are enrolled in lessons at another David Lloyd Club?
If your children are enrolled in lessons at another David Lloyd Club/Harbour Club Kensington/Notting Hill they are more than welcome to finish the term there or if you prefer we can transfer them over to Acton Park so that they can join one of our courses.


Can I change my membership category?
You are able to upgrade to a more premium membership category at any time by speaking to your membership team and completing a transfer form but you cannot downgrade in the initial 12 month term. We are happy to look at your individual circumstances and requests on a case by case basis, we will also have a grace period of 14 days after we open to allow you to amend your membership.

 

Do I have to pay for parking?
No, parking is included in all memberships. However, we are part of the London Travel Plan Initiative and are working alongside Ealing council to reduce our carbon footprint as a club and we are encouraging our members and team members to use modes of transport other than cars to get to the club, so we ask that you travel in by other means wherever possible.

 

Can I use the gym as soon as the club opens?
Yes, we will be communicating all information regarding our group gym orientations nearer the time of opening and actively trying to involve all our members to ensure you get the most out of your membership and all our facilities. During May, your David Lloyd Acton Park Fitness Team will be visiting local clubs to meet you, answer any questions and most importantly, get your induction/gym programme completed. We will communicate the details of this in due course.

 

I joined David Lloyd from being an original Park Club member who is currently using Harbour Club Kensington and or Notting Hill, can I continue to use them?
Yes, you can continue to make use of the clubs until we open and thereafter you will only be able to use all David Lloyd Clubs.


When do I receive Guest passes?
You will all receive 2 guest passes every year on the anniversary that you joined the club, these will expire 1 year from the date of issue.

If you are a platinum member an additional 12 guest passes will be loaded on to your account by the 31st May and these guest passes will expire on the 31st December 2018. You can view all your guest passes on the David Lloyd App, also the reception team will be able to check these for you at the Front Desk and redeem them when you wish to use them.

What happens when mine, or my child’s age changes and we no longer fall into the same membership bracket we initially joined on?
Your membership will automatically be transferred to the next available option for your age bracket. When this is a case of moving to a membership where more than one option is available to you, we would then advise for you to come in and speak to one of our membership advisors. We will then be able to help you choose the best option for you.


Can I freeze my membership?
Yes, you can freeze your membership once over a period of 12 months. You can freeze for a minimum of 2 months and up to a maximum of 9 months at a time. You will be charged 25% of your monthly membership for each month you are frozen. Like your membership, this will be charged on the 1st of each month and you can only freeze your membership from the 1st of the month. You can freeze your child’s membership for free, like the adult membership this can be for a minimum of 2 months and up to a maximum of 9 months at a time and can only be frozen from the 1st of the month. Your initial term will be extended by the amount of time for which your membership is frozen if you decide to freeze during this period.

 

Can I freeze my membership if I have a medical reason for not being able to use the club?
Yes, you can freeze your membership for free if you have a medical reason which is preventing you from using facilities; all we would require is clear medical documentation for this. We cannot freeze the membership under medical grounds due to pregnancy unless due to a medical complication that arises during pregnancy or we have a letter confirming you are unable to use the club from your doctor.
