New and improved All Stars Junior Racquet programme. It's not too late to book...
Our All Stars Tennis programme saw some positive changes for Term One of 2012 which resulted in a rise in participation to its highest ever level. So huge thanks to everyone who has been involved in the classes between January and March! I have made a few more changes for April which will see us further improve the service which we deliver on court.
· Class sizes – we have seen demand increase beyond levels we anticipated, which has resulted in some classes being larger than I would ideally like. For the April timetable I have restricted class size to eight participants in Performance classes and 10 for other classes. Smaller classes will help us deliver a higher quality programme, but will mean that it is necessary to make your class booking early!
· New classes – I have added two extra Yellow classes to the April programme, which lets us create a new Yellow Development Squad 2 group, with the top couple of players from each class being invited. This will help us create another high standard class to keep these players motivated to progress. We have also added a new Green 3 class to give a midweek option to these players.
· Lesson Plan Booklets – these have been very popular and have helped the children track their progress, whilst helping us deliver a structured term. Parents are also kept informed of what we are working on each week and how the children are progressing.
· Match play sessions – these sessions provide the opportunity to get some match practice, and will remain free of charge to Juniors involved in any coaching course. We have combined a few of these sessions to try to bring more children together at the same time, instead of spreading them over five sessions.
· Elite competitive opportunity – we have invited eight of Ulster’s top Juniors to compete every Sunday in a match play session which some of you will be invited to. This is part of our development plan to establish David Lloyd Belfast as a recognised centre of excellence.
· Continued discount on second and third classes that your child may wish to attend.
· Many more competitive and social events between now and July!
As a current participant you will have a two-week priority booking window before these classes will be open for general bookings. With class sizes being restricted I would recommend early booking, as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. (Booking form and payment must be received to secure your place.)
We look forward to seeing you on court in May!
