There are FOUR components to be addressed when aiming to develop muscle shape and definition.
1. Resistance Training
Training with resistance is essential when developing muscle shape and definition. For muscles to change shape, they need to work with increased loads than they are typically usedto. To continually develop muscle shape and definition any resistance programme needs to be progressed frequently to ensure that the work load is increased effectively.
2. Personal Training
Personal Training is the ideal way to agree the key solutions that need to be focused on each day to achieve your goals. Guidance and motivation from one of our Personal Trainers will ensure the correct exercises are performed to deliver effective muscle shape, whilst ensuring that tolerable levels of stress are applied to the body’s joints. Monitoring and recording resistance loads will ensure your workout is always challenging, as well as providing you with confidence that your workout is as effective as possible.
3. Nutrition
Developing muscle shape requires a focus on nutrition. Our food choices and eating habits such as the timing of our meals, have a significant impact on our bodies response to exercise. Making the right food choices at the right time is essential for losing body fat and repairing muscles which ultimately determine muscle shape.
4. Cardio Training
Cardio training should support any muscle shaping programme as it serves as a method of loading certain muscle groups, making them more enduring. The more enduring our muscles are, the faster they can recover from training and the faster they will shape.
The SHAPE IT package provides an opportunity for one of our highly qualified trainers to work with you over the course of 12 weeks to help you reach your muscle shape and definition goals.
Our experience tells us that single sessions do not achieve effective or sustainable muscle shape and definition. Our Personal Trainers will work with you over a period of time, so that they can ensure the SHAPE IT package is delivering results for you and that you find it fun and enjoyable!
The stages below outlines the average experience from a 10-session Personal Training package.
Stage 1: Initial 0 – 4 weeks
- Consultation to establish your goals
- Resistance and cardio programme developed and exercises begin
- Understanding and application of nutritional methods to support muscle shaping
- Experience feelings associated with change, start to feel progress is being made
Stage 2: Visual 4 – 8 weeks
- Resistance training programme now performed with high levels of confidence, training load increased
- Nutrition monitored
- Start to see desired changes such as muscles shaping and definition
Stage 3: Results 8 – 12 weeks
- Training routine and nutritional strategies are now embedded
- Muscles shape and definition continue to improve
Stage 4: Maintenance or go again 12+ weeks
- Decide to apply new skills on your own
